A New Tradition

There is an enduring custom of stigma and misinformation that surrounds conversations about mental health within the Asian-Canadian community. This is especially felt in discussions between younger and older generations, perpetuating a tradition of isolation, shame, and silence. By utilizing familiar visual motifs and objects, this work attempts to transport audiences into a space where difficult conversations can be held, while providing tools to facilitate dialogue.
