How can we transform barbershops into sites of emotional growth?
In Canada, men are three times as likely to commit suicide as women, and twice as likely to develop alcohol dependence.
The leading theory for this difference is that emotional growth and vulnerability still holds stigma for men. As a result, men often compartmentalize their issues and avoid counselling or therapy.
This project aims to reach men outside of the paradigms of therapeutic appointments, and provide a service which allows them to open up and work through their emotions.
