Heritage of Waste

Willow Sharp

The average North American creates 70 pounds of textile waste a year. This project is an attempt to make this number tangible by creating a 70 pound quilt in order to draw attention to our exorbitant consumption and resulting waste. The quilt will be made collaboratively within workshops that will encourage participants to confront their own consumption habits through the contemplative act of sewing.

What we pass down to the next generation shouldn’t be a world full of garbage.
