The demand for exotic pets has risen in recent years, in part due to their popularity on social media platforms. ‘Cute’ animal videos perpetuate the misunderstanding that exotic animals are suitable pets, putting their well-being at risk.

By creating a series of storybooks that centre around lovable characters, this project offers children an opportunity to empathize and to understand the consequences of owning an exotic pet.

Louie’s New Home tells the story of a slow loris, a primate native to South and Southeast Asia.
